About Our Practice in Gilroy

Dr. Patel graduated with Honors from The Ohio State University College of Optometry and has been in private practice for over 29 years in Gilroy. He is an active member of the Gilroy Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Patel is proud of his years of experience in the eye care world, which allows him to provide consistent, quality care. He always looks forward to helping families and their children achieve their vision goals, whether they’re looking for medical care or just new glasses or contact lenses.

When he’s not working, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and playing golf and basketball.

Dr. Isabella Myers graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s in biology from Boston University in 2009. She then earned her optometry doctorate (with honors) in 2016 from The New England College of Optometry, where she was a proud member of Beta Sigma Kappa and the Optometric Honor Fraternity.

Through her internships at the VA in Brockton and the East Boston Community Center, Dr. Myers gained invaluable experience. She is particularly interested in specialty contacts, ocular surface disease, and glaucoma.

Patients love Dr. Myers for her attention to detail and thoroughness. She treats everyone like family, ensuring they feel genuinely cared for and understood. She finds deep fulfillment in making a difference in how her patients see and feel about their ocular health and cherishes the long-term relationships she builds with them.
Outside work, Dr. Myers enjoys scuba diving, backpacking, hiking, cooking, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Dr. Dylan Patel graduated with a degree in microbiology from the University of Illinois in 2019 and earned his optometry doctorate from Ohio State University in 2023. Known for his friendly nature and excellent communication skills, Dr. Patel is committed to prioritizing his patients’ best interests by ensuring trust and professionalism with every visit.
Patients appreciate Dr. Patel’s ability to make them feel comfortable and well-cared for, whether they’re looking for routine eye exams, medical eye care, or new glasses or contact lenses. He finds great fulfillment in helping people in the community and building lasting relationships with his patients.

When he’s not in the office, Dr. Patel enjoys playing basketball and golf, working out, and watching sports—especially Ohio State football and the 49ers. He also loves spending quality time with family and friends.

Dr. Shelsea Winkler graduated with a pre-med biomedical engineering degree from UC Irvine in 2011 and earned her optometry doctorate (with honors) from the New England College of Optometry in 2016. She then completed internships at VA Fresno and Codman Square Health Center in Boston, gaining valuable hands-on experience.

Dr. Winkler’s patients appreciate her personable and friendly approach and commitment to achieving excellent visual outcomes. Known for her trustworthiness, she focuses on contact lenses, particularly astigmatism, multifocal, scleral, and RGPs. She has specific expertise in managing keratoconus and irregular corneas.

She is passionate about being a primary eye care provider and enjoys seeing patients and their families annually. One of her favorite aspects of her job is finding ways to achieve her patients’ most comfortable vision.

Outside of work, Dr. Winkler enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her husband and their 3 children.

Mireya joined our team in 2024 as an optician with 30 years of industry experience. Known for her friendly and outgoing personality, she is a true people person who enjoys making every patient feel welcome and comfortable.

When she’s not helping patients find the perfect pair of glasses or contact lenses, Mireya loves spending her free time outdoors. She is passionate about landscaping, and you can often find her tending to her beautiful garden. She also enjoys taking her Jeep on coastal drives with her daughters, soaking in the scenic views and enjoying the fresh air.

Gloria, an optician with over 32 years of experience in the industry, is a valued member of our team. She earned her certified medical assistant certificate from Gavilan College in 1992 and has since committed herself to helping people find the right glasses and contacts for them.

Known for her enthusiasm and supportive approach, Gloria enjoys seeing her clients leave excited about their new frames and enhanced vision—what she fondly describes as “seeing in HD.”

When she’s not at the clinic, Gloria enjoys gardening, cooking, nature walks, and traveling. Her exceptional cake-making skills are well-known, and she often delights friends and family with her delicious creations.

Sally is a valued optician at our practice and is known for bringing a detail-oriented and organized approach to her work. She takes pride in getting to know her patients and understanding their lifestyle demands so that she can tailor their glasses to meet their specific visual needs.

What Sally finds most fulfilling about her job is the variety it brings. Each day presents new challenges and opportunities, making her role exciting and rewarding.

Layla, our optometric technician, is a valuable member of our team. With certifications as a medical assistant from Central Coast College in 2022 and as a nursing assistant in 2024, she brings a solid foundation in patient care to her role.

Her approach is open and inviting, ensuring patients feel comfortable during their visits. Layla finds great fulfillment in interacting with people from all walks of life and enjoys the unique and diverse conversations she has with each patient.
Outside the clinic, Layla loves spending time with her friends and family, hitting the gym, and taking her husky on daily walks.

Our optical technician, Cynthia, has been a valuable part of our team since 2024. She attends Gavilan College, where she studies behavioral aspects of health.
Cynthia’s approach to patient care is centered on active listening and ensuring comfort and satisfaction. Meeting new patients daily and fulfilling their needs brings her immense satisfaction.

In her free time, Cynthia loves spending quality moments with her daughters and enjoying delicious food amidst beautiful scenery.

Daisy’s career in optometry began in 2018. After taking a break in 2021 to welcome her son, she returned to the field with renewed passion and dedication. Daisy has been a part of our team since early 2024.

Daisy is known for her attentive and compassionate nature. She believes in being a listening ear and making patients feel comfortable during their visits. Daisy ensures each patient receives personalized and thorough care, whether it’s a routine check-up or a more complex procedure.

The most fulfilling aspect of Daisy’s job is the opportunity to build lasting relationships with returning patients while also meeting new faces every day. She enjoys participating in their eye health journeys and contributing to their well-being.
When she’s not at work, Daisy enjoys a balanced life filled with fitness activities, cooking, and spending quality time with her family.

Amy is a friendly and dedicated paraoptometric who always greets patients and answers the phone with a smile. Although she has been in her current position for only a few months, Amy brings valuable experience from her previous role as a scribe in ophthalmology at Stanford.

Amy graduated with a bachelor’s in kinesiology from San Jose State University in 2021. She finds great fulfillment in helping everyone around the office and learning something new. She looks forward to growing in her role and providing excellent patient care.
Outside of work, Amy loves hiking, playing video games, and working out.

With over 3 years of experience in the eye care industry, Emilia brings a welcoming and helpful approach to her role as an administrative assistant. Her dedication to going above and beyond for patients ensures that their vision and ocular needs are met with the highest level of care.

A lifelong resident of Gilroy, Emilia finds immense satisfaction in interacting with members of her community daily. Her connection to her roots adds a unique, personal touch that patients genuinely appreciate.
